Adolescents
For adolescents, I would aim to meet with the young person and parents together to start with and then make space within the assessment process to meet with the young person and parents separately. Some adolescents may prefer to come on their own. I would be happy to do this but would always speak with parents on the phone first. Once the assessment is completed, I would make a recommendation of care which could be individual work, family work or parent support; or a combination of all 3.
